A short story in the universe of The Uncertain Flight of the Butterfly.
Assembly member Ganto Yawa had not grown inside of a woman’s womb. He had been, like the first humans to be born in the Monarch, an embryo implanted in an MRU. He grew up listening to the heartbeat of his twin sister, with whom he didn’t share any genetic material, and to the one of the beast that carried both for six months.
The Spanish version of this story (Otra Manera de Matar el Resentimiento) was selected for a flash fiction anthology titled “Con La Urgencia del Instante” (With the Urgency of the Moment) by Ars Communis.
